Dose anyone remember these and have a picture of one?
I had a toy ramjet made out of old empty CO2 cartridge back in the 1960's. You filled the empty CO2 cartridge with gasoline. The empty CO2 cartridge narrow end had a pin hole. There was a hollow ramjet tube behind the cylinder narrow end. A small amount of gas in a pan under the cartridge burned gasoline which heated the cylinder causing the gas inside to vaporize and shoot out the back into the ramjet tube producing thrust. It hung on one end of a counter weighted bar. The bar center hung from a pivot such that it would spin around like a hanging mobile. You would light the gas and started it spinning manually. When the ramjet ignited, it spun very fast. I can't believe our parents let us play with those things but somehow we survived unscathed. It sure was fun!

The “crazy jet” is not what I had. Mine hung on one end of a counter weighted bar. The bar center hung from a pivot such that it would spin around like a hanging mobile. You would light the gas and started it spinning manually. When the ramjet ignited, it spun very fast. Scared me so much I still remember it went very fast. Very dangerous.
